Saturday mornings usually always consist of the same thing- sleeping in, having crispy edged pancakes, and loving on all the things I love best. Some saturdays are different though. Like this one.
It's winter here in the good ol' mountains of WV. The sky is doused in heavy clouds and a layer of airy fog. My chickens are out and cold. My dogs are asleep, and warm. And I am prepping for a new release. One I'm just a bit more than nervous about. A love story. A hot story. A story about a soldier, a wife, and a war. Not the war you might be thinking about either.
The war we fight in ourselves...when we love wrong- when we love hard- when we love true. My family, and I come from a very large one, is a bit nervous about this book too. To put it on a scale of hotness, we should give it a bit more than an R' rating. As an author, I despise ratings. Erotica, adult, thriller, romance...new adult, young adult...the lists of genres are forever long and so the ratings that go with them. Did I say they are forever wrong too? Which is what I am contemplating this morning. Real life doesn't come with ratings, or genres, or scales. It comes with words, and emotions, and choices, and actions. I'm usually a PG-13 at best, but I'm also human and I'm also real. Rated R' is a natural occurence for me, on many levels. I cuss, I swear, I talk dirty, and I talk nice. As a human, I live. As an author, I'm genred. I'm rated. I can type one bad word or three, and it changes my audience drastically. Yet, I write about life and love and being human. We have ratings so to advise the readers on what to read. I get it. The author in me even gets it. This book is coming regardless, in a big way. I will warn you though...it's real, it's raw, and it's life. This morning I'm experiencing life. Just like you. Just like everybody.
Sandcastle Soldier...it's a love story ya'll! And that is what I hope is taken from it most. So, have happy reads and I hope your Saturday is not-rated...and is exactly as dirty, clean, happy, sad, hot, not...as you want. <3, Elle Moon
